I had a wonderful dinner here last Monday with my friends. This is the very best Japanese restaurant in Germany as far as my knowledge goes.
The kaiseki-box is a wonderful offer from the chef to taste traditional and very delicious Japanese cooking outside the restaurant and in this unusual time. We were slightly skeptical - on how kaiseki could be served in "takeaway" form but we are glad that we tried! The chef carefully planned the food and packed them nicely and gave instructions on how to enjoy at home. The ingredients are top fresh. Thank you and we look forward to our next order.
During the shooting for our YouTube channel "Frankfurt-Food-Living-Lifestyle" we were able to taste a real dream menu with 7 courses. In the current restaurant guide "Frankfurt goes out!" Nihonryori Ken took first place twice in the "Asian Fine Dining" and "Japan" categories. In contrast to European haute cuisine, the Kaiseki kitchen, the epitome of Japanese high-class cuisine, celebrates the simplicity and naturalness of the food. The focus is on the presentation of the food. In Frankfurt we were allowed to look behind the scenes of the Kaiseki restaurant NIHONRYORI KEN and let the chef "Fujita San" pamper us. Simply great!
Every dish in the menu is a poem. Everything is explained. High class food and service
Excellent food for the discerning customer. Prices are appropriate, but the food is worth every penny. Extremely courteous, friendly and helpful staff.
Amazing food and experience. Everyone was so polite and it made me feel like I’m back in Japan again!
We spent an amazing evening at Nihonryori KEN to celebrate my husband's birthday. The food was delicious, everything is prepared with careful attention to detail and arranged beautifully. The staff was very friendly and attentive. I will definitely recommend this place!
Insider tip for connoisseurs and friends of authentic Japanese cuisine. We had the 13 course menu. We recommend. Every course was a surprise for the palate. So many different flavors and textures. Splendid. We recommend. We will be eating there again.
That's what I call a super restaurant with an event character! Highly professional, top quality. A little Japan in Frankfurt.
Eating here feels more like an event than simply having dinner. The food is really nice and the alcohol selection is amazing! Will def come again any chance I get.
By far the best Japanese in Frankfurt and probably in the entire Rhine-Main area. Service quality 10/10, just perfect. Great creations, unusual but not too extreme. Accessible to all tastes.
Really pleasant atmosphere, so very friendly, nice service who explained all dishes to us in detail. Great taste experience, a feast for the eyes thanks to Japanese aesthetics. For me, a flashback from visiting Japan a dozen years ago. What a joy. Dõmo arigatõ gosai mashita!
Excellent Kaiseki style restaurant with lovely staff. Discovered plenty of new flavors and textures in one meal. One of my best culinary experiences
I had an unforgettable dinner with 10 courses on my birthday. The food is very tasty and very high quality. Waitress as well as sushi chef pay a lot of attention on detail and on customer needs.
One of the best Japanese restaurants I know. The composition of the monthly changing menus is just perfect! I've been there a couple of times now and each time it has been wonderful from the service to the food. So you like to come back again and again!
We had the “Nihonryori KEN x Oyster Lodge, 2020” 10-course Kaiseki menu with Nigiri Sushi from a master hand. This combination is highly recommended, but only takes place when the sushi master from Bad Vilbel's "Oyster Lodge" is present at the KEN. A telephone agreement in this regard when making the reservation is therefore useful. The kaiseki-ryōri served is at the highest authentic Japanese level and reveals itself in its extremely harmonious composition. A symphony of wonderful optics, profound and multi-layered taste, well thought-out haptics and the perfect temperature lets you immerse yourself in a world of taste that is probably only rarely found outside of Japan. The individual corridors are thought out in such a level of detail that you can really be amazed. The kaiseki-ryōri has undergone a metamorphosis that spanned many centuries in Japan, resulting in a unique perfection that stimulates all the senses of taste. The bosses at KEN understand how to implement this tradition in its current form in the state of the art. In addition, there is the sushi prepared by the sushi master of the Oyster Lodge in front of the guests right behind the counter. The ingredients, the preparation technology and the implementation are at the highest level. I can say for myself that this is by far the best sushi that I know outside of Japan. My Japanese colleague, an old culinary hand, was as enthusiastic as I've rarely seen. Conclusion: All-round success and a very special experience in itself. The staff is extremely polite, attentive, sensitive and humorous. The explanations of the individual courses and the operation are in fluent German as well as in Japanese. You feel completely comfortable and secure, almost like visiting friends. This is where the actual Japanese "Omotenashi" feeling comes up. The first time I could feel this outside of Japan. When the team found out later that my colleague had invited me for my birthday, I was given an extra birthday dessert, a bouquet of flowers and a calligraphy spontaneously handwritten by the owner. This was not agreed beforehand, but arose from the dynamic of the evening. Thank you again, I was really moved. The ambience of the restaurant is deliberately kept in the aesthetic minimalism typical of Japan, which has a very calming effect on the senses with a lot of wood, calm and clear forms, so that one can immerse themselves holistically in the food and the sensations associated with it. As a European one is probably not used to experiencing an evening of this kind at first. I really recommend that you give it a try and indulge in the sensations of authentic kaiseki-ryōri and omotenashi with an open, unbiased attitude.
An outwardly inconspicuous high-priced Japanese restaurant with the choice of a menu or a 7-course menu or a 10-course menu. The 7 course menu was varied and very tasty. Personally, I liked the beef stew very much. Every single course was prepared in the kitchen with great attention to detail. The restaurant receives from me, provided you want to pay a large sum for a dining experience, a clear recommendation for a visit. The staff is very courteous and friendly.
Delicious foods.
Amazing food, really friendly service, cozy environment and great sake. Not cheap at all, but well worth for a special occasion.
The spartan decor creates a somewhat sober atmosphere, but what the friendly service and the kitchen conjure up on the plate is just fantastic. Each course is a small work of art and a new variation of textures & flavors. Definitely take the menu and be surprised!
Amazing food, beautiful presentation and top notch service. We will definitely come back. Other reviewers commented that the food was expensive, but I think that the price is more than adequate considering that you get a 3 hour dining experience with 7 or 10 courses.
Unbelievable. Amazing service with waiters fluent in Japanese, English and German. Honestly one of the best meals I’ve had in my entire life. Do be aware that the meal will take probably between 3.5-4.5 hours (for the 7 or 10 course tasting menu). If that’s too long then somewhere else might be better, but if you have the time then absolutely come here.
We had the 10 course menu and were absolutely thrilled. Each dish was at the perfect temperature and tasted great. Of course everything was very nicely arranged. I have never eaten better in Japan. The recommended wines were delicious and matched the respective courses. Rounded off by a friendly, professional service, we spent an evening here that will be remembered for a long time and was worth every penny! We will definitely be back.
A great place worth to visit. Good food and presentation.
Was there for lunch Kaiseki, 9 courses for 52 €. It was perfect. Every course is a small work of art and tastes outstanding.
Best dinner for a special day!
Nice Japanese food and good service. Judging from the price I was expecting something better
While in Germany, I forgot to be in Germany and could feel Japan. Order 10 courses The menu, which is offered every month, was very refined and difficult to enter into with Japanese ingredients. I think you are working carefully one by one. Kappo dishes eaten in a calm restaurant were satisfying enough. Recommended for those who want to enjoy Japanese cuisine in Germany. A good shop where you can feel Japan.
Best Japanese restaurant in Frankfurt. Delicious food and great staff.
I celebrated my birthday here last night. I ordered ten dishes of the chef's recommended course, each of which is exquisite. After eating the last, the chef personally delivered the last birthday dessert with a small firework and a gift. Blessing words and a small bouquet of flowers written by him, happy, will come again
Wow! Quiet ambience, top service and Japanese haute cuisine. We each had lunch at Kaiseki. There is a large selection of wine and sake in the restaurant. Until next time!
Recommend! Real Japanese cuisine, very authentic, best Kaiseki Ryori in Frankfurt even in DE. Seasonal Japanese ingredients, friendly atmosphere, the chef went out of his way. Definitely worth a visit.
A Japanese culinary experience in Frankfurt. The fresh seasonal tasting menu, attention to detail and traditional, ceremonial service made us feel like we were back in Japan. The chef’s creations which uniquely blended multiple flavors together were simply brilliant. We look forward to coming back and experiencing the flavors of the different seasons. A warm thank you to the chef and staff for taking good care of us!
The newly opened restaurant is definitely worth a visit. Japanese haute cuisine and rightly an aspirant for a star. The chef uniquely combines the flavors so that not only on the plate a great dish is created, but also when eating perfectly balanced textures and flavors merge. The service was very attentive, but at the same time very inconspicuous in the background. Top!
Simply amazing. If you love Japanese food, this is the place to be!
Excellent menu and cuisine. Top service. A real experience. For friends of fine cuisine a real highlight of Japanese cuisine.
Our 8 course meal was excellent; every gear is a pleasure. The ambiance is very authentic. The service was perfect. The restaurant brings a piece of Japan to Frankfurt.
